In Memory of My Beloved Bill... 29 Years are Not Enough.

Abide with me; fast falls the eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life, in de
ath, O Lord, abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me
.

I truly enjoy viewing and reading your posts!
Your comments on my page have been very insightful
as well. I am always touched when I hear of couples who are able to stay married to the same spouse for as many years as you were...especially in this world where everyone wants to give up so easily. I have a neighbor whose husband of 40 years, passed away about three years ago. I was amazed at how strong she was, and still is, in dealing with his loss....because of her unshakable faith in the Lord. It sounds to me as if your faith is rock solid as well. So ,in a way, the Lord is your husband now too and therefor you will never be alone. God Bless

i'm so sorry about your husband. You're right: 29 years are not enough. Death is one of those impossible things to accept. I'm very glad you had a good marriage and can take joy in this, and hope your blog will comfort you in some way, too. It's very good.

Hi, I wanted to thank you for your comments recently on my post " A Bold Creek Runs Through It" Yes the Smokies are very beautiful aren't they. I had always had a fondness for beaches and summer hot spots, but in recent years I am slowly but surely being converted to a mountain lover!!
They even bring us closer to God!!

Hello,

Thank you for commenting on my page. I think you have posed a very strong question. They say that pain allows you to truly know joy, sorrow to truly know peace. I think if this is true then why must they be so unbearable for such a small reward?
